Protecting Kids from Lead Poisoning

This one-pager was created in collaboration with MLK50: Justice Through Journalism, an award-winning nonprofit newsroom focused on the intersection of poverty, power and policy.

In the spring of 2023, MLK50 learned that the City of Memphis and Shelby County were remediating lead poisoning hazards at a slower rate than they were pre-pandemic. So they launched a broad investigation, speaking with researchers, parents, and grandparents to learn about the negative effects of lead poisoning in children.

To serve our community, I partnered with MLK50 to create this single page of free resources. This guide is available digitally and in print at local community centers.
